Another nice chess-based short indie video game.
The gameplay is fun & original, simple but very efficient!
The music is also great, and I liked how the storytelling explain the "2 extra lives/jokers".
The only minor pain point is the huge difficulty variation due to the randomnes of the levels grids.
The Black King has been dispossessed of everything...
Everything except their royal shotgun.
His wrath shall be his undoing, yet he cares not.
In his dark folly, bits of white pieces will fly.A unique turn-based strategy roguelite based on the timeless checkboard classic.
Excellent short game.
Exactly the kind of original gameplay mechanics I love,
with just right level of challenge,
and every game session is short enough that you immediately want to play one more again!
Made with Sugar game engine
It's a bit similar to Shogun Showdown
EDIT: It's now on Steam
Chessformer is a grid-based puzzle platformer with Chess pieces. Each of the pieces moves as expected, but they fall down after moving and can't move again until they stop falling. The goal in each level is to capture the opposing king
I loved it!
Really fun, with right level of difficulty and quite original!
The last level was challenging but it was nice to never have to restart it. Good job really, very polished and interesting levels!

- You have a deck of cards with chess moves. You draw 4 every turn.
- When your deck is empty, the discard is shuffled and creates a new deck.
- Drag on a card and highlight a direction to perform the corresponding chess move.
- Kill enemies by attacking them like you would with a chess piece.
- Red crosshairs are tiles targeted for attacks, you'll lose lives if you end your turn there.
- You can get attacked multiple times in a turn!
- Clear the board to progress through the game.
- You have 2 moves every turn (shown left of the board).
- You can press the arrow next to your hand to end your turn early.
