you wake up in a maze and you need to find your way out. You fight enemies, explore the map, collect items and manage your resources (such as bullets, water, grass, tea).
There's also an "energy" mechanic, you only get 32 steps before running out of energy and getting reset to your starting location - so keep an eye out for shortcuts, loops and secrets. Drinking tea also refills your energy.
A short (<30min) that I enjoyed very much!
Another nice chess-based short indie video game.
The gameplay is fun & original, simple but very efficient!
The music is also great, and I liked how the storytelling explain the "2 extra lives/jokers".
The only minor pain point is the huge difficulty variation due to the randomnes of the levels grids.
The Black King has been dispossessed of everything...
Everything except their royal shotgun.
His wrath shall be his undoing, yet he cares not.
In his dark folly, bits of white pieces will fly.A unique turn-based strategy roguelite based on the timeless checkboard classic.
Excellent short game.
Exactly the kind of original gameplay mechanics I love,
with just right level of challenge,
and every game session is short enough that you immediately want to play one more again!

Cette année, grâce à @kleph qui m'en a parlé, je participe au Advent of Code :
Advent of Code is an Advent calendar of small programming puzzles for a variety of skill sets and skill levels that can be solved in any programming language you like. People use them as a speed contest, interview prep, company training, university coursework, practice problems, or to challenge each other.
You don't need a computer science background to participate - just a little programming knowledge and some problem solving skills will get you pretty far. Nor do you need a fancy computer; every problem has a solution that completes in at most 15 seconds on ten-year-old hardware.

A lovely minimalist platformer game, with a gameplay similar to vvvvv.
It has simple yet impactful graphisms & narrative.

A nice short game I had a lot of fun playing!
The gameplay is original and fluid, the level design excellent...
The game reminded me a little of Red Ronin in its mix of fast action & puzzle game.
The Ten Principles of Puzzle Design:
- make the goal of the puzzle easy to understand
- make it easy to get started
- give the player a sense of progress
- give the puzzle a sense of solvability
- increase the difficulty gradually
- have parallelism to let the player rest
- have a pyramid structure to extend the level of interest
- have hints in order to extend the level of interest
- give the answer
- perceptual shifts are double-edged swords
- The Mechanics
The player should not have to figure "what to do"
just "how to do it". - The Catch
Logical contradiction where 2 things are seemingly
in conflict with one another. - The Revelation
Think outside the box, about how the game works
This discovery becomes part of your toolbox going on - The Assumption
Lure the player that he knows how to beat the puzzle.
Why?- Gives the player a starting point
- Help to build a mental model of the puzzle
- Ensure the player fails the puzzle the 1st time
- Focus the player on the puzzle Catch
- The Presentation
Pretty minimalist, with few moving parts,
giving the feeling that it shouldn't be hard to beat
Also: provide clear feedback - The Curve
No puzzle is given to the player in isolation
Criteria to judge a puzzle difficulty:- Number of possible solutions
- Number of steps required
- Number of options a player can choose at each moment
- Number of mechanics the player needs to be familiar with
An excellent puzzle game!
Basically it's "Rush Hour" with portals
The last level is very tough though, I have been stuck on it for several hours...
Chessformer is a grid-based puzzle platformer with Chess pieces. Each of the pieces moves as expected, but they fall down after moving and can't move again until they stop falling. The goal in each level is to capture the opposing king
I loved it!
Really fun, with right level of difficulty and quite original!
The last level was challenging but it was nice to never have to restart it. Good job really, very polished and interesting levels!

Spring Falls is a puzzle game about water, erosion, and watching things grow.
Manipulate the landscape and bring wildflowers to life as you make your way down a peaceful mountainside.
Soft visuals, ambient guitar work, and environmental sounds come together to create a meditative, relaxing experience.
A very relaxing logic puzzle game, with a poetic artistic direction, intuitive (&) fluid game mechanics and smart levels.
I really enjoyed it, it's well worth the price!
A really nice point & click adventure game we just finished with my girlfriend.
Maybe not one of my top 10 adventures games, but one I would really recommend!
Set in the 90's, Kathy Rain tells the story of a strong-willed journalism major who has to come to terms with her own troubled past as she investigates the mysterious death of her recently deceased grandfather. [...] The truth is dark and sinister…

A really nice logic puzzle for amateurs of maths & voting systems!
Aquarium is a logic puzzle with simple rules and challenging solutions.
The rules of Aquarium are simple:
The puzzle is played on a rectangular grid divided into blocks called "aquariums"
You have to "fill" the aquariums with water up to a certain level or leave it empty.
The water level in each aquarium is one and the same across its full width
The numbers outside the grid show the number of filled cells horizontally and vertically.
Note: there is a "Mass Print" page

Hole in Clone is a golf-puzzle game where you can shot clones of yourself in order to reach the goal.

Sizeable is an exploration/puzzle game where the player has to find mysterious pillars by resizing the objects in the world around them! Each level in Sizeable is a completely new and unique environment, wich means each level will have its own unique way of exploration and puzzle solving through the resizing mechanic.
A pretty & relaxing game with very satisfying puzzles.
It reminded a bit of Vectorpark games like Windosill.

Un court (10min max) point & click dont l'ambiance et l'humour m'ont bien plu, notamment grâce aux bruitages.
Il est issue de la Global Game Jam 2020, et je l'ai découvert grâce à CanardPC.
